Australian CFS Clinical Practice Guidelines Draft

The Royal Australian College of Physicians is soliciting comments this month on its recently revised CFS Clinical Practice Guidelines. This document aims to assist general practitioners and other health care professionals involved in managing people with fatigue states, especially CFS. Please see www.best.com/~cfids/guidelines.htm to review the document.

It is available as a MS Word document, for those who can handle that format.

It is now also available in PDF format, which permits anyone to print out the document as it was written. The PDF format version is available at www.best.com/~cfids/guidelines.pdf.

[This version requires an Adobe Acrobat reader, which many times comes bundled with a new computer's software. However, it is a free download at www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html.]

Comments should be sent to two places:

1) the Royal Australian College of Physicians hpu@racp.edu.au.

2) the Allison Hunter Memorial Foundation jayjay@wagga.net.au (an Australian CFS organization), which is preparing a compilation document and /or website (www.ahmf.org) and advocacy response.

The deadline for receipt of comments is July 31,2001. The Guidelines will be published by the Medical Journal of Australia.
